The Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence May 10-16 highlights the international campaign to stop the proliferation and misuse of small arms.
Each year activists around the world use the Global Week of Action to raise awareness, campaign for better gun laws and push for stronger regulation of the global arms trade.

Letter to the Spanish Presidency

In December 2008, the EU adopted a legally bound Common Position on the control of arms exports, that included the “Respect for human rights in the country of final destination as well as respect by that country of international humanitarian law”, the “preservation of regional peace, security and stability” and the compatibility of the exports with the economic capacity of the recipient country, ensuring “the least diversion of human and economic resources for armaments”.


AEFJN together with other NGOs is asking the Spanish government to add  to the agenda of the Spainsh EU Presidency a “Progress report one year after reaching the Common Position on arms exports"
